"Crenshaw County Autumn Barn" Copyright 2023, Brian Braden Photography. Happy October! I thought I'd post a nice autumn image to kick off this blog post. I am finished reading my October review candidate scheduled for review on 17 October. I've already picked up and started reading the November book, but I won't announce it until after the October review. So, I'm browsing X, looking for more promising indie books to add to my candidate list. You can find my current candidate list here. Let me rephrase that, I'm looking to curate promising indie authors as much as promising indie books. I don't have a specific genre, I'm simply looking for well-written, well-edited stories that capture my attention and imagination. I wander the void, looking for opportunities to shout back. See those books on the sidebar to your right? Click on them and see how I review books. I give each book serious attention. I just don't throw a star rating at it and move on. I make the review worth the reader's time. I don't review slop and I don't review books that aren't worth the reader's time. I only review one book a month, and I give my reviews a lot of care and attention. My goal is eventually to have an extensive library of curated authors and books. I'm looking for that one great indie novel, that masterpiece hiding in the void, ignored and neglected. I want to say I read and reviewed it first. Is that your book? Then get my attention. If you want to highlight your book to me, simply tag me on X (@illusionexotic) on a post with your book link, and follow me. I'll follow you back and take a look at your book and see if it makes the candidate cut. How do I select and review books? Click here. I can't review what I don't know exists, so please get my attention. Don't email me here, tag me on X. Thank you.
