Thank you to everyone who dropped by my exhibit at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art two weeks ago. They had over 600 visitors, and I met a lot of great people. It was a lot of fun, and best of all my son joined me for the event. I'm sorry I haven't blogged lately. I haven't written or taken a single photo, either. Things got nuts. A huge yard project (which involved a contractor) kicked things off, and demanding a great deal of my time. Then, over the Thanksgiving weekend I got the stupid impulse to overhaul the garage. "If I'm already cleaning it, why don't I just repaint it while I'm here," I said to myself. That turned into replacing the lighting fixtures, which is now morphing into possibly sealing the floor and building cabinets. Now, somehow, December got here, the holiday season is in full swing, and time is slipping away. I think many of you understand exactly what I'm talking about. The calendar is filling in with events with friends and family. It's a good thing, but leaving little time for photography and writing. Or blogging. Its time to go to work, but I'll try to get my next in-depth blog post finished and posted next week. Keep checking back for upcoming events and signings. See ya next time. ![]() If you enjoyed this blog, please like the post and leave a comment or if you're feeling brave, share it on social media. Also visit my Facebook, my author page and check out my photography book from America Through Time, "Abandoned Wiregrass: The Deepest South's Lost and Forgotten Places." ![]() Please join me at the Montgomery Museum of Art (MMFA) this Saturday, 19 November from 10am to 4pm for "Artist Market 2022." There will also be a special MMFA Artist Market Members' Preview showing on Friday, 18 November from 5pm to 8pm. I will be one of approximately 30 Alabama artists, and the only photographer, showing and selling at one of the South's finest art museums. It is a distinct honor being selected to participate. This weekend would be a great time to pick up some Christmas gifts. Not only will I be selling signed copies of "Abandoned Wiregrass", but I will also be selling framed and unframed fine art prints from the book and my other collections, including several award-winners. If you have never visited the MMFA, now is a great time. #MMFA #artistmarket2022 #fineart #photography #montgomeryalabama #abandonedwiregrass Fine Art Photography Available at Artist Market 2022.![]() Of course I will also be signing and selling copies of "Abandoned Wiregrass" as well. The holidays are now upon us, and I'm swamped and feeling a bit under the weather. I've got three in-depth blog post halfway written that I can't seem to finish. I've taken only a few photos lately, and I've made NO progress on my latest novel or photography book. However, I have been busy traveling, showing my photography, and planning upcoming events. What little photography I'm currently doing is "target of opportunity" shots. I always carry a camera, and I've found a few good subjects. However, none of these are suitable for my next photography book. The shots below, and the one above, are from a condemned business in my home town. Rudd Art Center Veterans ShowI had a wonderful time at the Rudd Art Center Veterans Show debut event two weeks ago. The show is ongoing through 18 November. I was really excited to sell a piece and talk to other vet-artists like me, from the Vietnam-era to today. Please go to downtown Ozark and support local veteran artists. Find out more here. Please stay tuned, as next week I will be talking about my upcoming showing at the Artist Market in Montgomery. More to follow. See ya next week. ![]() If you enjoyed this blog, please like the post and leave a comment or if you're feeling brave, share it on social media.
